Aureus Mining Inc. (TSX:AUE,LSE:AUE) announced the results from a 62-hole drill program at its Liberia-based Weaju gold target, which is located within the company's wholly owned Bea Mountain mining license. It noted that so far results from 47 holes have been received.
Hummingbird Resources plc (LSE:HUM) announced that along with its subsidiaries, it has entered into a $15-million financing agreement with a 100-percent-owned subsidiary of Anglo Pacific Group plc (LSE:APF). The money will be put towards exploration and development at Hummingbird's Liberia-based Dugbe 1 gold project.
Mining Weekly reported that Liberia's first commercial gold mine is being financed by South African banks.
Bloomberg reported that Hummingbird Resources (LSE:HUM) is targeting 3 million ounces in gold reserves before building a mine in Liberia.
