MarketWatch reported that in a letter to shareholders, Warren Buffett said gold doesn’t belong in one’s investment portfolio, despite the market seemingly thinking otherwise.

Options to Earn 100% Interest in La Carreta Property in Mexico Acquired by Geologix

Geologix Explorations Inc. (TSX:GIX,FWB:GF6) has acquired an option to earn a 100% interest in the La Carreta gold-copper-silver property in Michoacán State, Mexico — located approximately 20 km north-east of the Company’s Tepal project. Initial grab samples from the property have provided analytical results of up to 2.16 g/t gold, up to 305.00 g/t silver, and 1.29% copper.

Avino Main Mine to Re-Open with a New 20 Year Royalty Agreement

Avino Silver & Gold Mines Ltd. (TSXV:ASM), via its wholly-owned Mexican subsidiary, entered into a new agreement with Minerales de Avino, S.A. de C.V. whereby Minerales has indirectly granted to the Company the exclusive right to explore and mine the La Platosa property known as the “ET zone”.

Tembo Gold Corp. Set to Drill Seven Targets in 2012

Tembo Gold Corp.(TSXV:TEM) announced the latest results from a LIDAR survey at its Lake Victoria goldfield project, Tanzania. Tembo employed AOC Geomatics as the geological contractor to carry out the survey at the property. Seven targets have been identified for drilling in 2012 at the property.
