TerraX Minerals – Targeting Canadian Gold Deposits

Overview:

TerraX Minerals Inc. (CVE:TXR) will begin drilling in the summer of 2011 at its Stewart copper-gold property in Newfoundland on the Burin Peninsula, where recent sampling, IP and Airborne magnetic surveys have identified Oyu Tolgoi porphyry style Au-Cu mineralization up to 1.4 km wide over a 6 km strike length. In addition, sampling by Terrax in 2010 discovered the Forty Creek showing (grab sample of 59 g/t Au and 2290 g/t Ag) 1.4 km to the northeast of the alteration zone mapped in 2010, further expanding the exploration area.

TerraX is also actively exploring three gold projects in Ontario, the Sunbeam-Pettigrew, Blackfly and Central Canada properties, all of which are located within 20 km of the town of Atikokan, 180 km west of Thunder Bay, and within 19 km of Osisko Mining Corporation’s Hammond Reef gold deposit.

Sampling and drilling at Blackfly and Sunbeam-Pettigrew conducted to date has so far tested only the upper parts of a gold-bearing hydrothermal system, and we are encouraged by the extent of the alteration zones and the associated gold mineralization. Drilling highlights included Hammond Reef style mineralization (1.1 g/t Au over 13.9 m) at the Road Zone on Sunbeam-Pettigrew and high grade gold (17 g/t Au over 1.1 m at Blackfly and 10.96 g/t Au over 2.0 m at Blackfly North) at Blackfly, where an outcrop sample in 2009 returned assays to 167 g/t Au. Anomalous gold has been identified over a 10 km strike on the Sunbeam-Pettigrew property, which is the site of numerous past producing high-grade gold mines from the early 1900’s. Further drilling is planned at Sunbeam-Pettigrew and Central Canada for the fall of 2011.

Investment Highlights:

  • Low capitalization – only 23.6 million shares issued.
  • Experienced management with proven exploration success.
  • Well-funded
  • Drilling planned for the summer and fall of 2011.

Chief Properties:

Stewart Gold-Copper Project, Newfoundland

The Stewart property is comprised of 242 claims totalling 60.5 sq. km, located 30 km north-northeast of the town of Marystown on the Burin Peninsula in Newfoundland.

The property features an east-northeast striking, 6 km long by up to 1.4 km wide epithermal to porphyry style alteration zone with extensive low-grade gold-copper mineralization of which less than 15% has been drill and trench tested.   Sampling conducted in 2010 obtained anomalous gold over 725 m in soils across strike.  In early 2011, Titan 24 ground geophysics (deep penetration IP) was completed across 2.5 km of strike length on the 6 km long alteration zone. Three separate chargeability anomalies were identified, collectively defining a zone of anomalous chargeability which spans the entire length of the survey area (2.5 km).   Our initial target type for the Stewart property was for a mineralized system similar to Oyu Tolgoi (1.39 Bt at 0.93% Cu and 0.37% Au) in Mongolia, and the IP anomalies we’ve defined exceed, both in size and intensity, our most optimistic expectations.

The high grade Forty Creek showing (grab sample of 59 g/t Au and 2290 g/t Ag) 1.4 km to the northeast  represents a second target on the property.  Soil sampling has identified a strong three-line (450 m wide) arsenic anomaly proximal to the showing, and the airborne magnetic survey has shown a structural connection between Forty Creek and the main alteration zone.

Sunbeam-Pettigrew, Blackfly and Central Canada Properties, Northwest, Ontario

TerraX Minerals Inc. is one of the major landholders of prospective ground in the burgeoning Marmion Batholith gold district near Atikokan, Ontario, host to Osisko Mining Corporation’s (TSX:OSK) Hammond Reef gold deposit which contains a National Instrument 43-101-compliant inferred resource of 259.4 million tonnes at 0.8 grams per tonne Au (approximately 6.7 million ounces of gold). The Brett Resources Technical Report on this deposit is available on SEDAR. TerraX is actively exploring three wholly-owned gold exploration projects, the Sunbeam-Pettigrew, Blackfly and Central Canada properties, all of which are located within 20 km of the town of Atikokan, 180 km west of Thunder Bay, and are within 19 km of the Hammond Reef gold deposit.
